Case History: maxi skid, great professionalism

Fiorini’s latest challenge was a super-sized custom element… which it passed with flying colours!

Fiorini skids are solutions which combine pumps and tanks assembled directly on the support base, tailored to the customer’s performance and footprint requirements.

The one created for a company in the food sector, for cooling a storage warehouse posed a challenge on several fronts due to the immense size.

The first at design level, coinciding with the need to fit a large number of elements into a single solution. This resulted in a 6m-long maxi skid consisting of:

• a support base for utility circuits, on which 8 pumps and 4 circuits are installed;
• a 3-pump chiller unit with the same number of circuits;
• a 10,000-litre accessorised tank.

The second challenge was logistical and successfully overcome by using a skid with a partial modular design. The tank was, in fact, designed to be connected to two units in situ, directly by the customer, using a series of Victaulic couplings.

A solution which allowed the skid to be handled more easily without foregoing the convenience of a plug and play solution.
