TAILOR-MADE KITS: ROOFTOP HVAC EFFICIENCY.
The case of the new HVAC system for the Villa Maria Group hospital, designed by Fiorini Industries.
È la sfida che ha unito Fiorini Industries e l’agenzia Eurostrada srl per il Gruppo Villa Maria: un progetto complesso di riqualificazione energetica che ha trasformato una limitazione logistica in un esempio di efficienza e innovazione.
The context
As part of the renovation of the building’s thermal power plant, the Villa Maria Group chose to replace old boilers with a high-power heat pump system—a more sustainable and high-performing solution. To optimize its operation, it was necessary to integrate a thermal buffer tank and booster pumps dedicated to the heating and cooling system.
The real challenge? The impossibility of reaching the existing thermal power plant. The entire hydraulic section had to be housed on the roof, right next to the heat pumps.
The Fiorini Approach
Working in synergy with the design firm, the installer, and the partner agency, Fiorini Industries designed and manufactured a compact, pre-assembled, custom hydronic kit. This plug-and-play solution was engineered to ensure:
Cost transparency and management
Ease of installation
Precision in component layout
Long-term maintenance accessibility
This approach guaranteed that the system could be installed within a protected enclosure, minimizing on-site intervention—a decisive advantage, especially in a hospital environment.
Challenges overcome
The design phase required meticulous attention to space optimization: tanks, pumps, and hydraulic components had to coexist within an extremely confined area. Thanks to a specialized internal architecture, the technical team achieved maximum compactness without sacrificing performance or maintenance access.
It is a perfect balance between functionality and technical design.

From design to reality
The project required several months of preliminary development, followed by our detailed engineering phase; the manufacturing and testing were then completed in approximately six months.
Dedicated transport and crane positioning on the roof completed an installation process made simple by Fiorini’s high level of prefabrication: a true plug & play thermal power plant.

The added value
For the end client, this project translates into cost reduction, optimized space, and simplified maintenance. This was further supported by the online hydronic kit configurator available on the website, which allows for precise and customized design from the very early stages.
For Fiorini Industries, this represents another example of how collaboration can generate technical solutions that blend innovation, efficiency, and practicality. Projects like this demonstrate that, even in complex scenarios, bespoke prefabrication can transform challenges into opportunities.
Specifically, given the healthcare setting, the system was engineered to ensure peak performance and operational continuity 365 days a year—an indispensable requirement in the medical field.
This project reinforces the company’s role as a leading partner in the world of hydronic kits and high-efficiency HVAC solutions, thanks to the seamless integration of engineering expertise and advanced digital tools.
